Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern to join our Renewables team, supporting the design and development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This internship offers hands-on engineering design experience under close mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Experience or coursework in AutoCAD Civil 3D software design, structural analysis, steel/concrete design, and geotechnical engineering is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027 and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of development and construction plans for utility-scale solar and BESS renewable energy projects
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians across disciplines on multiple active projects
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D plan production
• Learn and apply structural foundation analysis, design, and techniques
• Support the preparation of design deliverables, including plans, reports, and permit documentation
• Gain exposure to regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to structural design in the renewable energy sector
• Perform engineering calculations, develop standard details, and assist in the preparation of technical drawings
• May assist in field visits to support data collection or site assessments, depending on project needs
