Job summary

Duke Energy Renewables is seeking a Renewables Technician to support inverter-based resources and battery storage sites across North Carolina. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical and control systems work, site commissioning, and safety compliance.

Travel up to 50% regionally is required, with strong emphasis on teamwork and independent problem-solving. Ideal candidates have technical or 2-year degrees, with experience in electrical systems, SCADA, and field maintenance.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate degree required for Tech I/II/III roles.
• HS Diploma/GED with related experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
• PV system knowledge or related PV training highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational rounds and maintenance tasks across inverter-based resources and BESS sites.
• Coordinate with Operations Centers regarding plant/equipment status and travel to multiple sites.
• Responsible for LOTO processes, safety reporting, and documentation of environmental, health & safety records.
