Westwood Professional Services invites applicants for a Site Design Intern role within our civil engineering team. You will assist with site layout, grading, drainage, and access-road design for renewable energy projects and construction documents.

The internship emphasizes applying coursework to real-world renewable energy infrastructure, learning industry standards, and collaborating with Senior Engineers on grading plans and drainage designs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program, preferably in Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication, professional interaction with clients and team members.
• Willingness to learn in a cross-disciplinary environment.
• Flexibility to attend site visits and outdoor fieldwork.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• Assist in preparing grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and access road plans.
• Support earthwork and stormwater calculations under guidance of Senior Engineers.
• Help prepare construction documents, plan sheets, details, and quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure project progress.
• Travel to project sites to gather field data and interface with clients and contractors.
