Job summary

Westwood Professional Services is seeking a Site Design Intern to support a civil engineering team in site layout, grading, drainage, and access road design for renewable energy projects. You will apply industry standards, assist in preparing grading and drainage designs, and work with Senior Engineers on construction documents.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, possess strong communication skills, and are willing to learn in a cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program, preferably Civil Engineering.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, management and team members.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and perform outdoor fieldwork.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers in preparing grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and access road plans.
• Support earthwork and stormwater calculations; assist with plan and profile sheets and quantity takeoffs.
• Help prepare construction documents and details.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members across projects to ensure progress.
• Travel to project sites to gather field data and interface with clients and contractors.
