Job summary

Southern Power seeks an Engineer/Analyst to oversee renewable asset management, focusing on solar and wind asset performance, budgets, and profitability. You will analyze revenues and expenses, support due diligence for acquisitions, and work with O&M teams to ensure high availability.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, KPI tracking, and regular stakeholder reporting to optimize asset value across lifecycle and development activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of power plant operations, project engineering, financial modeling, or asset management, preferably in renewables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Contract management experience and ability to manage multiple medium to large-scale projects from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and analyzing revenue, expenses, and asset profitability.
• Maintaining awareness of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the assets.
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings or revenue optimization.
• Maximizing the value and efficiency of renewable assets over their lifecycle.
• Coordinating with O&M teams to ensure high availability and performance.
• Supporting due diligence of asset acquisitions and new development projects.
• Producing regular performance reports for stakeholders.
• Benchmarking performance against industry standards or contractual expectations.
