Job summary

Southern Power seeks an Engineer/Analyst to oversee the financial, operational, and strategic performance of renewable assets (solar and wind) across multiple facilities. You will analyze revenue and expenses, monitor budgets and forecasts, and identify opportunities to improve asset profitability.

The role emphasizes lifecycle optimization, due diligence for acquisitions, and coordination with O&M teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of power plant operations, project engineering, financial modeling, or asset management, preferably in renewables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Contract management experience and ability to manage multiple medium to large projects from planning to completion.

Responsibilities

• Track revenue, expenses and overall asset profitability.
• Maintain awareness of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the assets.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings or revenue optimization.
• Support due diligence of asset acquisitions and new development projects.
• Coordinate with O&M teams to ensure high availability and performance.
• Develop status reports and presentations for management updates.
• Produce regular performance reports and benchmark against industry standards.
