Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Youth Mentor and Support Coordinator to work remotely, serving youth in and around Welkom (Free State). You will empower young people through mentorship, coordinate virtual workshops, and connect them with resources to help achieve their goals.

Responsibilities include tracking progress, collaborating with families and schools, and supporting personal and educational growth in a flexible, mission-driven virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
• Experience in youth development, mentoring, or counseling.
• Excellent virtual communication and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with online collaboration tools and platforms.
• Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and development.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse youth remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one mentorship addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Coordinate and facilitate virtual workshops and group activities.
• Connect youth with community resources, education opportunities, and career pathways.
• Track participant progress, set goals, and celebrate milestones.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational institutions to support youth development.
• Develop understanding of challenges facing youth in the Free State region.
