Job summary

Nikon Metrology in the United States seeks an experienced X-ray Field Service Technician to install, maintain, repair, and upgrade Nikon Metrology X-ray products. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex systems.

Extensive travel (80%+), primarily across North America, is required to support customers on-site and remotely, train staff, and ensure service quality in line with SOPs. ITAR compliance and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree required or equivalent
• 2+ years in a technical role or >4 years in a technical role preferred
• Ability to travel 80%+ domestically with potential international travel
• Experience with complex capital equipment and subsystems
• Must identify and fix issues to board level
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• ITAR-controlled information handling

Responsibilities

• Perform system installations, preventive maintenance, upgrades and repairs for Nikon Metrology X-ray products
• Troubleshoot system failures and perform corrective actions
• Provide product maintenance and software training as needed
• Deliver technical field services at customer sites and via phone/email
• Support equipment at customer locations and assist with parts return and inventory
• Submit timesheets, expense reports and service reports promptly
• Travel extensively within North America; occasional international travel
