Job summary

Saybrook University is seeking a part-time Writing Coach (FWS) to join Writing Services. The coach will provide individualized coaching to help students develop writing skills and will create supporting materials, write session reports, and coordinate schedules.

Regular participation in team meetings and ongoing professional development is expected, with occasional breakout-room facilitation. Must be actively enrolled as a Saybrook student eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS), possess strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Actively enrolled Saybrook student eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS).
• Competent college-level reading and writing skills.
• Maintain good academic standing with Saybrook University.
• Commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience.
• Prior experience working with students remotely.
• Prior experience facilitating online workshops or seminars.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one coaching to help students develop writing skills.
• Create supporting documents and materials.
• Write reports about completed sessions.
• Coordinate scheduling with students at least 2 days before sessions.
• Participate in weekly team meetings with Writing Services staff.
• Complete onboarding training and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Assist with breakout rooms during events hosted by Writing Services.
