Job summary

New College of Florida is seeking a Student Writing Assistant for the Writing Resource Center in Sarasota. You will support fellow students with writing strategies through one-on-one meetings and occasional workshops.

The role emphasizes respectful interaction, strong communication, adaptability under stress, and a willingness to learn new approaches. You may assist with social media and other WRC initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered NCF student in good academic standing.
• Must have satisfactorily passed the course Pedagogy in Practice/Writing Center Theory and Practice.

Responsibilities

• One-on-one writing meetings in the Writing Resource Center.
• Facilitate writing workshops and classroom support as needed.
• Manage social media accounts and other projects benefiting the WRC.
• Fill out pre- and post-meeting paperwork; attend mandatory training.
• Open and/or close the WRC and maintain coffee/snack area.
• Other duties as assigned.
