Jobgether seeks an Underwriting Manager – Workers’ Compensation for a partner company in the United States. This leadership role drives profitability, underwriting performance, and agency development across a regional WC territory.

You will guide strategy, analytics, and modernization initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale operations and improve outcomes. Travel up to 30% within the region is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Workers’ Compensation underwriting with strategy and portfolio management experience.
• Leadership experience managing underwriting teams or regional operations.
• Strong knowledge of NCCI/state bureau regulations and loss trends.
• Proven track record in building profitable WC books of business.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional WC underwriting operations to drive profitable growth and retention.
• Develop and execute underwriting strategies for portfolio management and pricing.
• Drive new business while maintaining renewal profitability and risk control.
• Evaluate exposures, payroll, class codes, loss runs, and risk characteristics.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines, regimes, and state bureau requirements.
• Build regional plans with executive leadership and distribution teams.
• Coach and develop underwriting talent and act as senior referral authority.
• Engage with brokers and distribution partners; conduct agency meetings and reviews.
• Monitor performance metrics, submission flow, pricing trends, and loss ratios.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, finance, product, and operations to improve outcomes.
