Job summary

Davies North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Excess/SDF Claims Specialist to work remotely in the United States. You will submit excess reports on workers’ compensation claims, pursue SDF claims, and manage reporting timelines for our clients under state regulations.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Florida WC claims handling, an active adjuster license, and solid communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of claims-handling experience in Florida WC law.
• 1-2 years of office experience.
• Active Adjuster license (FL 5-24 or 5-20/6-20).
• Working knowledge and experience handling Workers’ Compensation claims.
• Knowledge of state-specific Workers’ Compensation statutes.
• Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and related claims and business software.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written; good customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills. Team player. Good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and agents to ensure excess policies and declarations pages are available for each year with open claims.
• Provide notification to clients’ excess carrier regarding TPA services and reporting procedures.
• Identify retention levels and special reporting requirements for each policy period.
• Report to excess carrier with initial, follow-up and final reports per carrier guidelines.
• Maintain communication with team re excess reporting and timely reporting.
• Evaluate files for SDF potential and pursue reimbursement per state requirements.
• Contact employers, attorneys, field reps and doctors timely.
• Notify SDTF of settlements and advise on approval procedures.
• Ensure all file handling includes consistent system documentation and timely compliance.
• Maintain diary and keep files current per company standards.
• Correspond with excess carriers and the SDTF regarding excess/SDF issues.
• Update SDF and excess status reports on a quarterly/3-,6-,12-month basis.
• Provide SDTF with reimbursement requests.
• Monitor diary, complete SI-19 forms and facilitate timely filing with FLDFS.
