Job summary

CorVel seeks a Claims Manager to oversee the operations of a designated office, shaping best practices and long‑term goals in support of the Workers’ Compensation program. The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and process optimization while guiding staff to peak performance.

This remote position requires effective communication, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel for meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Workers’ Compensation claims administration with a record of advancement.
• Minimum of 6 years’ comprehensive workers’ compensation administration experience.
• Minimum of 2 years' recent supervisory or management experience.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation must be maintained.
• Self-Insured Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company in a professional manner to internal and external customers and clients.
• Directs the performance and development of the employees in their department.
• Ensures staff compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and mandated regulatory reporting requirements.
• Assures peak performance of the team through training, coaching, and evaluations.
• Utilizes regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
• Monitors workflow and staffing levels; manages retention strategies.
• Develops and oversees common claim practices and procedures.
• Directs review and settlement of high dollar claims within authority; escalates when needed.
• Promotes efficiency, quality, and consistency by improving processes and systems.
• Ensures compliance with CorVel’s policies and procedures.
• Ability to travel overnight for meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
