Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Work-Based Learning Coordinator to design, implement, and improve mentor support systems across its apprenticeship portfolio. You will recruit, onboard, train, engage, and develop journeyworker/mentor professionals to help apprentices gain competencies and progress toward educational and career goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Workforce Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Healthcare, Human Services, or related field.
• 5 years of experience supporting apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, or related activities.
• Experience with Registered Apprenticeship Programs, work-based learning, internships, or workforce development programs.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with grant-funded initiatives.
• Equivalency in lieu of degree may substitute education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate journeyworker/mentor onboarding, orientation, and professional learning activities across apprenticeship programs.
• Support mentor resources, toolkits, guides, and learning materials.
• Coordinate mentor communities of practice, networking, and peer learning.
• Promote mentoring practices to support apprentice engagement and skill development.
• Track participation, engagement, satisfaction, and completion metrics.
• Prepare reports and stakeholder communications.
