Western Governors University is seeking a Program Mentor (RN) to coach and guide students in online, competency-based degree programs. You will manage a group of students, monitor progress, and provide timely support to promote successful graduation.

The role requires a Master’s degree, an active RN license, and 3+ years in student support or mentoring. Remote work from the continental US is typical, with some after-hours availability and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Masters or Advanced degree and applicable licenses for a degree program.
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing student support, mentoring, coaching or instruction.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a steward for carrying out WGU’s mission and strategic vision.
• Demonstrates commitment to student success via goals, outcomes, and notes; responds to inquiries promptly.
• Offers direct coaching and guidance to assigned students.
• Maintains program-level knowledge and ongoing professional development.
• Fosters student learning through innovative teaching and coaching practices.
• Maintains student-centric schedule including evenings/weekends and after-hours support.
• Monitors progress and conducts proactive outreach to students.
• Uses technology-based teaching/communication platforms to aid progress.
• Collaborates with university professionals to promote a positive, student-obsessed atmosphere.
• Exhibits WGU Leadership Principles and knowledge within assigned college.
