Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Program Mentor who will guide students through online, competency-based programs. The role emphasizes high-quality coaching, timely communication, and data-driven support to help learners succeed in their courses and career goals.

The position is full-time and remote from the continental United States, with occasional travel and a strong emphasis on collaboration with university colleagues to foster a student‑focused learning environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and Licensure/Certifications for degree program.
• Current RN license is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing student support, mentoring, coaching and/or instruction.
• Preferred: distance education/distance learning experience.
• Coaching certification (ICF ACC/PCC/MCC or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach a group of students to support academic progress and success.
• Provide direct, comprehensive support and guidance to assigned students.
• Respond to student emails and calls in a timely fashion.
• Use technology-based teaching/communication platforms to aid progress.
• Collaborate with university professionals to promote a student‑obsessed atmosphere.
• Maintain a student-friendly schedule and monitor progress to provide proactive outreach.
