Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems is seeking a Software Support Engineer to provide high-level software support for customers using in-house and third-party software on conveyor and robotics systems. You will remotely assist customers, investigate downtime, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments while collaborating with QA and Implementation teams.

The role emphasizes strong communication, customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities on a rotational 24/7 on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
• 2+ years of related experience, preferably with WMS/WES/WCS systems.
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution and fulfillment centers.
• Strong troubleshooting and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on WMS/WES/WCS.
• Remote into customers' automation systems as part of a Service Desk.
• Evaluate downtime by reviewing server status, services, logs, and symptoms with users.
• Troubleshoot in Linux environments including command-line, config files, and logs.
• Apply knowledge of software architecture, applications, databases, and cloud services.
• Collaborate with QA and Implementation teams to develop SME knowledge.
• Troubleshoot networks (TCP/IP) in application context.
• Document troubleshooting for failure mode analysis.
• Act as primary contact for select customer sites after implementation, including site visits.
• Communicate product/service updates and issue resolutions to customers.
• Maintain records of interactions, warranties, contacts, and service orders.
• Keep system information current with updates.
