Job summary

GE Vernova onshore wind is expanding, and the Wind Technician role supports turbine operations, safety, and warranty repairs with local travel within the hub. You will work with Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and ensure GE excellence.

Responsibilities include performing maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable speed turbines, documenting work, and coordinating with GE's remote operations center as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience as Wind Technician/Mechanic or Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy or 2 years electrical work experience.
• Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with site and hub leadership to meet contractual obligations daily and manage electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generator.
• Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable‑speed turbines.
• Assist in all site operations with minimal supervision while observing safety requirements.
• Perform diagnostic electrical analysis.
• Document all work using computer based service reporting procedures.
• Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
