Job summary

The Herd Lending is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer for a fully remote, commission-based role. You will build client relationships, structure financing solutions, and guide borrowers through the entire loan process.

Qualifications

• Active NMLS registration and state licenses for origination.
• Previous mortgage loan origination experience.
• Proven ability to generate business and referrals.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products and guidelines.
• Independent in a remote work environment.
• Experience with wholesale mortgage lending preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with borrowers and referral partners.
• Discuss borrower goals, income, assets, and property needs.
• Educate clients on mortgage products, costs, timelines, and qualifications.
• Recommend loan solutions aligned with client situations.
• Guide borrowers through application, preapproval, processing, underwriting and closing.
• Manage an active pipeline and follow up with leads and past clients.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements.
