Job summary

The Herd Lending is seeking experienced Mortgage Loan Officers for a fully remote role across the United States. You will develop relationships, guide borrowers through the mortgage process, and structure financing solutions for a wide range of needs.

You will work with homebuyers, homeowners, veterans, self-employed borrowers, and real estate investors, using a broad selection of mortgage products and national wholesale access to serve clients efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications

• Must hold active NMLS registration and licenses for originating in applicable states.
• Experience in mortgage loan origination is required.
• Ability to generate business and build lasting referral relationships.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, guidelines, and lending regulations.
• Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, real estate professionals, builders, and referral partners.
• Speak with prospective borrowers to understand goals, income, credit, assets, and property needs.
• Educate clients on mortgage products, rates, costs, timelines, and qualification requirements.
• Recommend loan solutions that align with clients' financial situations and goals.
• Guide borrowers through application, documentation, preapproval, processing, underwriting, and closing.
• Review loan files carefully and identify challenges early in the process.
• Communicate clearly with borrowers, referral partners, processors, underwriters, and other parties.
• Maintain an active pipeline and follow up with new leads and past clients.
• Develop new business through networking, referrals, and personal marketing.
• Follow all federal, state, company, and industry requirements.
