Job summary

The Herd Lending is seeking experienced Wholesale Mortgage Brokers to build a strong independent business from a fully remote setup. You will serve borrowers with personalized guidance, leveraging a broad product suite and national wholesale access.

Applicants must have Mortgage Broker/Loan Officer experience and reside in Alabama. The role offers uncapped commissions, in-house marketing support, and profit sharing as you grow your pipeline and close loans.

Qualifications

• Active NMLS registration and licenses for states of origination
• Previous mortgage loan origination experience
• Ability to generate business and build referral relationships
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, guidelines and lending regulations
• Confident with traditional and complex borrower scenarios
• Excellent communication, organization and follow-through
• Client-focused approach and honest guidance
• Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment
• Experience with wholesale mortgage lending preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, real estate professionals, builders, financial professionals, and referral partners
• Speak with prospective borrowers to understand goals, income, credit, assets, and property needs
• Educate clients on mortgage products, rates, costs, timelines, and qualification requirements
• Recommend loan solutions that align with borrower’s financial situation and long term goals
• Guide borrowers through application, documentation, preapproval, processing, underwriting, and closing
• Review loan files carefully and identify possible challenges early in the process
• Communicate clearly with borrowers, referral partners, processors, underwriters, and others
• Maintain an active pipeline and follow up with new leads, past clients, and referral sources
• Develop new business through networking, referrals and personal marketing
• Follow all federal, state, company, and industry requirements
