Job summary

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Strategic Design Engineer to join the Engineering/Sales Team covering the West Coast. The role involves collaborating with KAMs/SAMs to identify target customers and develop penetration plans, while coordinating with regional sales and engineering to deliver design solutions.

The position is remote from a home office in CA or AZ, with travel 50–60% across the geography.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years electronic packaging experience or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret drawings & prints.
• Travel 50–60% of the time within designated geography.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Technology in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify target customers and programs with KAMs/SAMs.
• Develop plans with Sales to penetrate accounts that don’t currently use our products but competitors’.
• Conduct quarterly design reviews with Regional Sales Manager and Sales Team.
• Program mapping at accounts with the Sales Team.
• Identify potential products and services at current accounts and resources to address customer needs.
• Communicate design progress and wins with GM to Product Managers and Sales Team.
• Provide technical support to Field Sales and customers.
• Generate design proposals with Factory Engineering & Product Management.
• Make technical product presentations and demonstrations to promote Amphenol products.
• Improve throughput with factories on drawings & part number assignment.
• Participate in professional organizations to stay current on innovations.
