Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Web Content Specialist for the DOT/FHA. Location includes Washington, DC, McLean, VA, and Remote with onsite duties in the National Capital Region.

The role focuses on professional writing, editing, and SEO-optimized web content while ensuring Section 508 accessibility and branding consistency across all documents, magazines, and web pages. A Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 7 years of experience in web content management, 3 of which within the last 5 years.
• Previous web experience
• U.S. Citizenship required for this position

Responsibilities

• Provide professional writing, editing, and proofreading services for diverse audiences and channels.
• Create and refine publication documents, marketing materials, and Public Roads magazine content with QA and version control.
• Deliverables include marketing plans, summaries, newsletters, flyers, brochures, fact sheets, guides, posters, postcards, scripts, transcripts, social media posts, presentations, exhibit materials, web content, talking points, FAQs, alt text, and surveys.
• Provide editorial support for publications, marketing, and magazine content at all stages of production in electronic format.
• Write and edit various materials such as documents, marketing materials and magazine articles.
• Correct errors in grammar, spelling, style, flow, punctuation, and format.
• Design and format publication materials to meet branding, style, and accessibility standards.
• Use CMS to upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites and intranets.
• Optimize text for SEO and ensure pages comply with Section 508 accessibility laws.
• Coordinate the Agency’s quarterly certification process for up-to-date information.
• Use graphic applications to crop, recolor, resize, and manipulate web images as needed
