Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Web Content Specialist in the National Capital Region to craft clear, impactful content for DOT/FHA audiences across channels, including web, newsletters, and marketing materials.

You will edit and publish materials, ensure branding and accessibility standards, and manage CMS uploads while coordinating with the agency and quarterly processes.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of web content management experience, with at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
• Onsite role located in the National Capital Region.
• Public Trust clearance required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional writing, editing, and proofreading to produce clear, impactful content for diverse audiences and channels.
• Create and refine publication documents, marketing materials, and Public Roads magazine content with quality assurance throughout production.
• Provide deliverables including marketing plans, summaries, newsletters, flyers, brochures, and web content.
• Provide editorial support for publications, marketing, and magazine content at all production stages.
• Write, develop, and edit documents and marketing materials; ensure consistency and branding across materials.
• Ensure grammar, spelling, style, and formatting are correct and polished.
• Design and format publication materials to meet branding and accessibility standards.
• Use CMS to upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites and intranets.
• Optimize text for SEO and ensure pages comply with Section 508 accessibility laws.
• Coordinate the Agency’s quarterly certification process for up-to-date information.
• Use graphic applications to crop, recolor, resize, and manipulate web images when needed.
