Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking a Charge Poster Lead to supervise the Workers' Compensation charge entry team in a remote role for eligible U.S. states, including CA. You will ensure accurate posting, adherence to payer requirements, and timely resolution of complex issues.

The role requires 3–5+ years in medical billing, WC rules expertise, and prior leadership experience. Collaboration with coding, denial management, and clinic ops is essential to optimize revenue capture.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of medical billing or charge entry experience.
• Strong knowledge of California Workers' Compensation billing rules and requirements.
• Prior lead, senior, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with EHR/PM systems (e.g., IMS, ECW, Prognosis, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of CPT/ICD coding fundamentals.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Workers' Compensation charge entry team.
• Ensure accurate and timely posting of all Workers' Compensation charges in accordance with payer requirements and internal SLAs.
• Monitor work queues, productivity, and aging to ensure timely resolution of assigned work.
• Review quality audits and provide coaching to staff to improve accuracy and reduce rework.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex Workers' Compensation billing or charge entry issues.
• Collaborate with coding, billing, denial management, clinic operations, and other revenue cycle teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Act as the primary liaison between clinic staff and the CE team to resolve charge holds and documentation issues.
• Ensure compliance with state-specific WC billing guidelines and organizational policies.
• Train, onboard, and support new charge entry staff within WC team.
• Identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Develop and distribute operational reports related to KPIs.
• Assist with coverage across revenue cycle functions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
