Blacksmith Agency is seeking a VP of Business Operations to run daily operations for a distributed team serving US clients. You will oversee four department leads, manage the weekly cadence, and own profitability and hiring costs.

The role requires strong negotiation skills and clear communication with a founder and senior leaders. Remote position available in the US or Canada, with growth from about forty to over one hundred forty staff as the company scales.

Qualificações

• Experience leading multiple functions with P&L responsibility.
• Track record of managing large teams and coaching leaders.
• Strong negotiation experience on contracts and vendor terms.
• Excellent communication to align four department leads and the founder.

Responsabilidades

• Lead four department leads: measure performance, development, reviews, and escalation decisions.
• Set the weekly rhythm, quarterly priorities, and prioritization when schedules clash.
• Own profit, margin on delivery, and cost of hires; drive accountable outcomes.
• Lead commercial conversations: client contracts, redlines, and vendor terms.
• Develop operators into leaders and coach them to autonomy.
• Make day-to-day decisions usually reserved for the founder.
