Job summary

The American Heart Association offers an Internship Program for college students to gain hands-on experience in volunteer engagement, content management and youth programs through Heart Clubs and the National Youth Leadership Council. Working with the Volunteerism team, you'll translate goals into practical resources and digital content for staff and volunteers.

You will help coordinate remote onboarding sessions, lead feedback meetings and enhance the Heart Club volunteer experience while

Qualifications

• College seniors or grads in communications, marketing, PR or nonprofit management are preferred.
• Strong writing and copyediting with ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple content tasks and deadlines.
• Interest in volunteerism and student organizations, with professional remote communication.
• Experience with Canva or Figma is preferred; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
• Letter of recommendation preferred; ability to conduct independent research and translate findings.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and proofread content for websites, social media, emails and newsletters.
• Create and update visual content and templates using Canva or Figma.
• Communicate with external volunteers by phone and email to share information.
• Maintain content calendars and volunteer records in internal tools.
• Support emails and audience communications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and CRM.
• Prepare slide decks, reports and materials for volunteer meetings and trainings.
• Assist with special projects to strengthen volunteer engagement and content quality.
