Job summary
VetsEZ is seeking a VistA/MUMPS Developer for a 100% remote, federal healthcare modernization project supporting VA initiatives to minimize SSN usage across VistA systems. You will analyze existing VistA functionality and implement secure MUMPS modifications while aligning with enterprise identifiers and PII/PHI protections.
The role requires 5+ years of VistA/MUMPS development, experience with Caché or GT.M, and Agile practices. U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of VistA/MUMPS development experience.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in VistA using MUMPS/M with InterSystems Caché, GT.M, or similar.
- Experience modifying or supporting VistA packages and datasets.
- Experience with debugging, source control, unit/integration testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and handling PII/PHI.
Responsibilities
- Modify and enhance VistA/MUMPS applications to eliminate SSN usage and transition to enterprise identifiers.
- Analyze routines, data structures, workflows, and dependencies to troubleshoot and implement secure code.
- Develop and execute unit tests; support functional, integration, regression, UAT, and deployment validation.
- Collaborate with QA to investigate defects and support post-release stability.
- Follow VA privacy/security controls and document changes for implementation considerations.
- Participate in Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews and retrospectives.
