Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a VistA/MUMPS Developer for a 100% remote role supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. The incumbent will eliminate SSN usage in VistA processes, analyze existing functionality, and implement secure, enterprise identifier solutions within an Agile team.

The role requires residing in the continental US and collaborating with cross-functional teams including QA, cybersecurity, and VA stakeholders to deliver compliant, production-ready software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years VistA/MUMPS development experience.
• Hands-on VistA programming using MUMPS/M with Caché/GT.M or equivalent.
• Experience with VistA packages, routines, and dependencies analysis.
• Proficient in debugging, source control, testing, and Agile practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork in multidisciplinary groups.

Responsibilities

• Modify/enhance VistA/MUMPS apps to remove SSN usage and adopt enterprise identifiers.
• Analyze routines, data structures, workflows, and dependencies to fix issues.
• Create unit tests and support functional/integration/regression testing and deployments.
• Collaborate with QA to investigate defects and ensure post-release stability.
• Follow secure development practices for PII/PHI and document changes.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies; communicate estimates, issues, dependencies, and risks.
• Take on additional tasks to support project objectives.
