Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Lead VistA/MUMPS Developer for a 100% remote role supporting a federal healthcare modernization project. You will provide technical leadership, guide SSN-elimination efforts, and ensure secure, compliant VistA solutions for VA applications.

Requires 15+ years in VistA/MUMPS with hands-on experience and a track record of leading teams within healthcare IT or VA environments. Strong collaboration with Agile teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 15+ years of VistA/MUMPS development experience.
• Strong expertise in VistA, MUMPS/M, and related platforms; complex, large-scale VistA applications preferred.
• Experience leading developers or technical teams in healthcare IT or VA environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for VistA/MUMPS development, setting standards, reviewing code, mentoring the team.
• Lead analysis of existing VistA applications, data structures, and dependencies to replace SSN usage while maintaining functionality.
• Design and enhance VistA/MUMPS applications, user interfaces, workflows, reports, and audit trails following VA standards.
• Lead testing, deployment, production readiness, and root-cause analysis across the software lifecycle.
• Incorporate secure coding practices and protect PII, coordinating with cybersecurity and privacy teams.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to support estimation, planning, and risk communication.
• Take on additional tasks to support project success.
