Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a Veterans Services Officer I to assist veterans and their dependents in navigating benefits, interviewing and counseling them through claims processes. This role covers services across Clearwater and St. Petersburg with occasional after-hours work in conjunction with Community Outreach.

The position requires veteran status and knowledge of applicable laws. A high school diploma or GED with administrative experience or an associate/bachelor’s degree with related experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of administrative experience, or
• Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree with some related experience, or
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Process claims, appeals, and questionnaires for compensation, pension, hospitalization, insurance, education, loans, and other veteran benefits.
• Interview and counsel veterans and dependents regarding benefits and entitlements.
• Determine eligibility and ensure claims are processed accurately in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Manage assigned cases and prioritize time and resources.
• Provide guidance to clerical staff as assigned.
• Work at Clearwater and St. Petersburg locations.
• Occasionally work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
