Job summary

FloridaCommerce in Key West, FL seeks a DVOP/LVER Government Operations Consultant II to support veterans' employment and partner staff with JVSG initiatives. You will balance employer advocacy (LVER) with intensive job-seeker case management (DVOP), develop service delivery strategies, and facilitate placements for veterans and eligible spouses, in line with Dept.

of Labor priorities. Requires knowledge of JVSG regulations, ability to train staff, and travel locally; generous state benefits

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable regulations, Veteran Program Letters, state and local guidance related to veterans and eligible persons.
• Knowledge of the laws governing veterans’ preference in employment and workforce services.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and coordination.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, and implements local policies and procedures to ensure JVSG compliance.
• Provides training to Career Center staff on JVSG regulations and guidance.
• Reviews programs, services, and reports to identify improvements for the JVSG program.
• Conducts outreach to employers and advocates with hiring executives to increase veterans’ opportunities.
• Conducts job search workshops, establishes groups, and participates in career fairs.
• Works with federal contractors on recruitment of Veterans.
• Advocates for the hiring of disabled veterans and assists veterans and spouses with employment.
• Develops program management procedures to ensure services are offered to eligible veterans.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher
