Job summary

VetCV Mission Next Center in Milton, Florida, seeks a Part-Time Veterans Service Officer to assist Veterans, transitioning Service Members, and families in navigating benefits and resources. You will assess needs, complete claims, coordinate referrals, and connect clients with community partnerships in a mission-driven environment.

The role emphasizes compassion, strong communication, confidentiality, and teamwork, with a 20-hour weekly schedule (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM) on site at the mission

Qualifications

• Must have served as a member of the United States Armed Forces and separated with an honorable discharge.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication, including public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterans and family members with VA benefit applications and claims.
• Explain federal, state, and local Veteran benefits.
• Coordinate referrals to community partners and ensure warm handoffs where possible.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Conduct client assessments and follow up to connect Veterans with services.
• Participate in suicide prevention initiatives and wellness support.
• Engage with community partners and represent VetCV professionally.
