The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a School Certifying Official to ensure accurate, timely VA education benefit certifications for a large population of military-connected students. You will monitor enrollments, eligibility, and financial aid, while ensuring compliance and audit readiness.

This role supports peak periods at term starts, add/drop, and graduation, working closely with VA representatives and campus partners.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Two years of related experience required; substitute for education where allowed.

Mansioni

• Certifies enrollments and reports status changes in Enrollment Manager.
• Counsels students on eligibility.
• Supports student-centered programs, events, and initiatives.
• Identifies and resolves veteran- and dependent-specific issues.
• Acts as primary point of contact.
• Maintains accurate and compliant VA student records.
• Monitors academic progress, GPA, enrollment, and financial aid to prevent overpayments.
• Verifies and reconciles documentation between student information systems and Enrollment Manager.
• Prepares compliance reports and verifies GI Bill payments prior to posting.
• Counsels students, parents, dependents, and Guard/Reserve partners on benefit eligibility and programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
