Job summary

LMI is seeking a Staff UX / Design Engineer to own the design of processes, workflows, and user experiences for the IronSled Platform. This role spans product, engineering, cybersecurity, and platform operations to simplify complex workflows including IAM, provisioning, and CMMC requirements.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in UX or related fields, with enterprise/SaaS design experience, and must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in UX design, product design, service design, or related discipline and leading complex end-to-end design efforts.
• Experience improving workflows where challenges involved business processes, constraints, or system architecture rather than visuals.
• Experience designing complex enterprise, SaaS, PaaS, developer, cybersecurity, or similarly sophisticated products.
• Ability to translate designs into implementation-ready requirements and collaborate with engineers.
• Experience with accessibility standards and Section 508.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end user experience for IronSled, from onboarding through deployment and ongoing use.
• Analyze existing processes to identify friction and opportunities for automation.
• Design workflows around IAM, access control, provisioning, environment selection, and CMMC requirements.
• Partner with platform engineers, security, PM, and leadership to ensure viability and alignment with backend constraints.
• Translate complex requirements into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and specs.
• Maintain consistent UX patterns and documentation across the IronSled portal.
• Conduct user research and usability testing with internal and external tenants.
• Provide front-end engineers with clear specifications and assets to speed implementation.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate research and validation.
• Contribute front-end artifacts like design tokens or CSS variables when useful.
• Ensure accessibility compliance and security considerations are met.
• Advocate for user needs while balancing security and maintainability.
