Job summary

Smithfield Foods in the United States is seeking an Engineering Leader to drive facility utilities across our Fresh and Packaged Meat operations. You will oversee Electrical, Refrigeration, Steam, and other systems to keep production running smoothly.

Based remotely within 60 miles of a designated Smithfield location, you will travel to facilities as needed (up to 50%) and may require relocation. This role demands strong leadership, project oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years in team management or project leadership.
• Knowledge of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support & Optimization: identify and implement solutions to critical operational issues of Facility Utilities Systems.
• Project Development & Engineering Design: engage external resources, manage scope, RFPs, and budgeting.
• Leadership & Team Development: mentor engineers and manage team skills development.
• Documentation & Reporting: develop engineering reports and data for asset management.
• People Management: drive a positive employee experience through coaching and development.
