Job summary

WellStreet Urgent Care is seeking a Remote Supervising Physician to provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across assigned centers, ensuring adherence to laws, policies, and clinical standards.

You will guide case reviews, accept high‑risk findings, and cosign documentation while supporting orientation for new APPs and participating in quality improvement activities within a team-based coverage model.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely clinical consultation and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Provide clinical guidance and review cases requiring physician involvement.
• Provide appropriate clinical direction for evaluation, treatment changes, follow-up or escalation.
• Cosign APP documentation as required by law or policy.
• Support newly hired or credentialed APPs during orientation or enhanced supervision.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the provider’s scope of practice and supervision requirements.
