Job summary

WellStreet is seeking a Remote Supervising Physician for Urgent Care to provide clinical oversight and oversight of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across assigned centers. The role requires residency in South Carolina and physician supervision within the Prisma Health Urgent Care framework.

You will review cases, provide guidance on high-risk presentations, cosign documentation when required, and support APP staff during orientation and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Active DEA registration.
• Experience with urgent care, family medicine, or emergency medicine preferred.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to review and cosign APP documentation as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and supervision to APPs during assigned coverage periods.
• Offer timely clinical guidance and review high-risk cases and abnormal findings.
• Recommend evaluation, treatment plans, and escalation when needed.
• Cosign APP documentation as required by credentialing and law.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the physician supervision scope and prescriptive authority.
