Job summary

Mission Underwriters is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting process and serve internal and external clients. The role partners with Program Series Underwriters and brokers to ensure timely policy processing and documentation.

You will mentor the team and act as a subject matter expert while maintaining compliance with SOPs and guidelines. This remote position requires the ability to travel up to 10% and live in the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
• 2+ years minimum directly supporting commercial lines underwriters.
• Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers
• Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Request and verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and SOPs
• Prepare policies for issuance using the PAS
• Lead or assist in PAS testing and review initiatives with management
• Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
