Job summary

Engage Employer, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Intake Specialist to help validate new submissions and ensure all data meets internal underwriting standards.

This role acts as the first line of data review, supporting timely risk evaluation and accurate case setup in underwriting systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with CRM platforms while navigating multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in employee benefits, underwriting, or insurance operations.
• Experience in a PEO, TPA, carrier, or benefits brokerage is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (Salesforce, Client Space, etc.).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and scrub all initial underwriting submissions from Sales for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with required data standards.
• Validate census, application, and supplemental data prior to assigning the case to an Underwriter.
• Identify and document any missing or unclear data; coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve gaps within defined turnaround times.
• Enter new client prospect data into multiple systems within agency timeline requirements ensuring accuracy
• Assign the designated Underwriter and ensure timely case creation in applicable underwriting systems.
• Tag and flag high-priority or complex cases for expedited handling or additional review by leadership.
• Maintain detailed documentation within the CRM and tasking systems for audit and tracking purposes.
• Partner with Sales Coordinators, Consultants, and Underwriting team members to ensure smooth case progression.
• Adhere to internal SLA expectations for data review and intake processing.
