Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Specialist for the Specialty Human Services division. This fully remote role covers the Northeast territory from Maine to Virginia, with a preference for candidates in the Northeast or Illinois/Wisconsin.

Responsibilities include underwriting, risk analysis, and collaboration with agents and clients. Requires 5+ years in underwriting and a related bachelor’s degree; travel is occasional. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance or related field.
• 5+ years underwriting or related experience is typical.
• Professional designations (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business per guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyze risk data to determine coverage, pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information.
