Jobgether is partnering with a U.S.-based healthcare provider to recruit an Underpayment Analyst for a remote role. You will review hospital claims, identify underpayments, and coordinate with carriers to ensure accurate reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.
• Experience with HIPAA and CMS regulations is preferred.
• Strong investigative and analytical thinking with attention to detail.
• Remote work experience and ability to manage tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments and variances due to coding or billing errors.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain missing information and clarify payment decisions.
• Prepare documentation to support reimbursement recovery, including appeals and reports.
• Maintain records of investigations, outcomes, and trends for audit readiness.
• Apply payer guidelines to support accurate claim assessments and recovery actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in team meetings to improve workflows and recovery strategies.
• Uphold confidentiality and healthcare regulations in all activities.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support revenue integrity goals.
