Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial policies.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and CMS regulations.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, or Meditech desirable.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Remote work experience preferred.
• Home workspace with reliable internet access.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments by examining coding and billing discrepancies.
• Contact carriers to obtain missing information and clarify decisions.
• Prepare documentation to support reimbursement recovery and appeals.
• Maintain records of investigations, outcomes, and trends for audits.
• Apply Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial policies to claims.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in team meetings and drive workflow improvements.
• Uphold confidentiality and healthcare regulations in all activities.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
