Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Underpayment Analyst to join a healthcare revenue integrity team in a remote role within the United States. You will analyze hospital claims, identify underpayments, and engage with insurance carriers to resolve discrepancies, contributing to accurate and timely reimbursements.

The role requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid policies, and experience with healthcare billing systems. A 90-day training program supports onboarding and success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of healthcare billing, medical coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial policies and guidelines.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and CMS regulations.
• Experience with healthcare billing systems or EHR platforms is desirable.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments and variances by examining coding errors and billing issues.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain missing information and clarify decisions.
• Prepare and submit documentation to support reimbursement recovery.
• Maintain records of investigations, trends, and outcomes for audits.
