Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Project Manager - Ubuntu Embedded Systems to coordinate large complex customer-facing projects across the Devices business. You will oversee delivery from engineering teams to customers, manage schedules, risks, and third-party deliverables, and build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.

The role is remote in APAC with occasional travel, requiring flexibility across time zones and non-standard hours to support international customers and a worldwide sales

Qualifications

• Solid project management experience delivering engineering services to customers.
• Experience managing cross-cultural/multi-continent resources (Asia, Europe, Americas).
• Educational degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
• Good knowledge of Linux and the wider Open Source Software community.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong leadership and ability to build partnerships with demanding project sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through their full life cycle and ensure goals for Canonical and client are met.
• Deliver engineering professional services for assigned projects.
• Work with engineering on board enablement and Ubuntu image delivery to customers.
• Draft and maintain project statements of work and schedules.
• Obtain client agreement to schedules and work items.
• Ensure delivery within time/resources/scope and manage risks.
• Drive technical issues to meet delivery outcomes.
• Communicate status daily/weekly with client and stakeholders.
• Coordinate third-party deliverables and notify management of status.
• Identify custom engineering requests outside existing contracts.
• Advocate for Canonical technologies to customers.
• Support different time zones and non-traditional hours as required.
