Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Leader, U.S. Trade Compliance Program, to oversee the U.S. Trade Compliance Program in partnership with the CTCO. The role focuses on strategy, risk management, and governance across import/export, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.

Remote work is possible within the United States, with responsibilities spanning governance, training, and external regulatory engagement. Requires 10+ years of experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (preferred) in supply chain and/or trade management and 10+ years of managing U.S. trade compliance programs
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in supply chain and/or trade management and 12+ years of experience in U.S. trade compliance
• Hold Customs Broker License (strongly preferred)
• Certified Import and/or Export Specialist (preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems and regulatory IT tools (SAP/GTS) preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs, BIS, EAR, OFAC, ITAR regulations

Responsibilities

• Support the CTCO in developing, implementing, and executing the U.S. Trade Compliance Program strategy
• Lead program initiatives to ensure compliance with U.S. import/export, sanctions, and other trade regulations
• Drive continuous improvement of the Country's trade compliance processes
• Advise Local Trade Compliance Officers on trade compliance risks and regulatory requirements
• Assist in annual Trade Review Program and risk assessments; close identified gaps timely
• Monitor compliance performance via Annual Trade Reviews, GTAs, and KPIs
• Coordinate remediation efforts with LTCOs after audits, reviews, or assessments
• Partner with LTCOs and business functions to embed compliance into operations
• Lead development and deployment of U.S. trade compliance training and awareness initiatives
• Engage with U.S. government agencies (CBP, BIS, DDTC, OFAC) as applicable
• Support merger and acquisition activities from a trade compliance perspective
• Develop metrics and executive reporting on program effectiveness and risk exposure
