Job summary

Team Carney, Inc. seeks a Trusted Tester - Level II to serve as the technical authority for Section 508 testing across ICT environments. The role includes DHS Trusted Tester processes and hands-on remediation of Office and PDF documents.

The candidate will evaluate VPATs/ACRs, develop test plans, and advise project teams on remediation of complex defects while guiding accessibility training and DHS certification preparations.

Qualifications

• Active DHS Trusted Tester Version 5.0 certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 4+ years ICT experience; 2+ years web accessibility testing with DHS Trusted Tester; 2+ years document remediation to Section 508.
• Proficient in evaluating VPATs and ACRs and in testing/tooling for accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized web accessibility evaluations using DHS Trusted Tester v5.0 (or later).
• Remediate electronic documents and forms (Microsoft Office, PDFs) to Section 508.
• Evaluate Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and VPATs during product acquisitions.
• Develop accessibility test plans and advise teams on complex remediation defects.
• Provide instructional support for candidates pursuing DHS Trusted Tester certification exams.
