Job summary

Withum is seeking a Trust and Estate Tax Manager to lead all aspects of tax engagements, supervise staff, and build lasting client relationships. The role is remote within the United States, with a focus on coordinating tax planning across diverse industries.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting, CPA/JD/MS in Taxation, and 5+ years in public accounting tax, plus strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Travel as needed; competitive benefits and bonus program offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA license, JD or Masters of Science in Taxation is required.
• At least 5 years of prior experience working in a public accounting tax department, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the firm well to client management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and/or seniors for accuracy.
• Researching and drafting memoranda involving complex tax matters.
• Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities.
• Handling and resolving tax controversies.
• Overseeing complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries.
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly.
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
