Job summary

eXp is seeking a Trust Accountant to manage multiple trust bank accounts, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform daily balance analyses. You will back up other accountants and contribute to special projects under supervision.

You will maintain accurate trust transactions, process daily cash movements, and support monthly reconciliations and reporting while collaborating with Finance, Operations and Legal teams to uphold control standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience with bank reconciliations is required.
• 1+ years of experience in the Real Estate industry is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Highly organized and proactive with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of SkySlope transaction management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and record trust account transactions across multiple accounts in compliance with state requirements.
• Identify and resolve trust account discrepancies and ensure escheatment compliance.
• Review and process daily cash movement requests including remittances, wires, checks and disbursements.
• Record escrow-related transactions and coordinate with state brokers, agents, employees and banks.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist in trust reporting and analyses.
• Assist in developing and implementing improved processes to strengthen controls and the accounting environment.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Operations and Legal to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Attend state and team meetings and support Treasury Operations projects as needed.
• Maintain data integrity and perform additional duties as assigned.
