Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Triage RN, Access for a part-time overnight role. The position involves triaging calls and messages, coordinating care with providers, and documenting in the EMR. Weekend shifts are required, with three weekend shifts every two weeks, and overnight 20-hour workweeks.

The candidate should be an RN graduate with Illinois licensure and BLS certification, and ambulatory care experience is preferred. A BSN is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• Illinois RN license or active compact license if applicable.
• Current AHA BLS Provider certification.
• Minimum 2 years ambulatory care experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage all incoming telephone calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving, involving the provider as appropriate.
• Document all communications in the electronic medical record.
• Schedule patient visits with providers based on protocols.
• Assist in orientation of new staff members.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a patient advocate.
